Job Description
During the Whole duration of this contract, THE CONTRACTOR shall provide a dedicated, qualified and professional Safety Specialist to work at the rig site twenty four (24) hours, seven (7) days a week basis to perform various safety duties. The Safety Specialist shall be responsible for all aspects of the rigs Safety plans, capable of administrating a structured safety program, including identification of hazards, mitigation of identified hazards, and shall be responsible for all safety training as well as certification of employees in hazardous material awareness and survival; in addition to overseeing reporting, tracking and investigation of all operational incidents and formulating strategies to minimise loss. Furthermore, the Safety Specialist shall be responsible for the overall loss prevention program at the rig and shall ensure that the aforementioned activities are aligned with Saudi Aramco policies and procedures.


Qualifications/Courses
Contractor's Safety Specialist shall have the following qualifications and/or received the following training:
•  Seven (7) years previous of onshore rig experience in one (or more) of the following positions   is (are) preferred; Derrickman, Assistant Driller, Driller, Night Toolpusher, Crane Operator.
•  Appropriate Safety professional certifications; International NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent as a minimum.
•  Certified H2S “Train the Trainer” with a minimum of Eighteen (18) months work experience in a safety role in a H2S environment.
•  “Train the Trainer” Instructor Training Course (American Society of Safety Engineers); or
•  “H2S Alive” Instructor program (Petroleum Industry Training Services).
•  Fall Protection Instructor and as a minimum has undergone Fall Protection training within the previous thirty-six (36) months.
•  Confined Space Entry Instructor and as a minimum has undergone Confined Space Entry Training within the previous thirty-six (36) months.
•  Undergone PTW (Permit to Work) training within the previous thirty-Six (36) months.
•  Undergone Lockout Tagout training within the previous thirty-six (36) months.
•  Complete Root Cause Analysis training within the previous thirty-six (36) months
•  Completed incident investigation training and, as a minimum has been actively involved in incident investigations on a regular basis.
•  Current Well Control Certification (Well Cap minimum), Well Control Training, and, as a minimum has completed well control certification once.
•  Current OPITO (Offshore Petroleum Industry Training Organization) approved HUET (Helicopter Underwater Egress Training) Ticket.
•  First Aid and CPR
•  American Red Cross, or
•  St. John's Ambulance, or Saudi Aramco – approved equivalent
•  Additional valid certifications, where applicable, shall be maintained. The Safety Specialist shall have a minimum one (1) of the following certifications:
A: OHST (Occupational Health & Safety Technologist)
B: WSO-CSS (Certified Safety Specialist)
C: CRSP (Canadian Registered Safety Professional)
D: Safety Institute of Australia
E: Industrial Foundation for Accident Prevention
